Being Smarter Than My Own Self
When I was 18, I knew there was something bigger out there. I didn’t have all the answers, but I knew one thing for sure—I couldn’t stay where I was. The small town I grew up in felt too tight, too predictable, too limited for what I sensed existed beyond it.
So I left.
I moved to places where I knew no one. I started fresh, over and over again, living in multiple states, throwing myself into the unknown. And while most people thought I was searching for something outside of myself, the truth is, I was actually peeling away everything that wasn’t me.
Outsmarting the Old Self
Leaving wasn’t just about geography; it was about perspective. I had to get away from the version of me that was built on routine, familiarity, and inherited beliefs. I had to stop making decisions based on what was comfortable or expected and start making choices that aligned with the vastness I had always sensed but hadn’t yet touched.
I had to be smarter than my own self—not in a deceptive way, but in a way that freed me from the version of me that wasn’t truly me.
Seeing Through the Eyes of the Divine
Somewhere along the way, I realized that my mind had been playing a game with me. It whispered doubts, clung to old fears, and tried to keep me tethered to the past. But there was another voice, quieter but infinitely more powerful—the voice of something greater, something infinite, something divine.
When I started listening to that voice, everything changed.
Instead of reacting, I paused. Instead of chasing validation, I sought truth. Instead of listening to fear, I asked: “Who is making this decision—the small self or the higher self?”
The more I chose to see through the eyes of Divine Light, the more my life began to flow. I wasn’t resisting anymore. I wasn’t trying to force or control. I was simply aligning, trusting, and stepping into the life that had been waiting for me all along.
Living From This Space
Being smarter than my own self is not about tricking myself or suppressing emotions. It’s about choosing to operate from the highest level of wisdom available to me. It’s about surrendering control while stepping into true power. It’s about making decisions from love, not fear.
It’s about knowing that when I stop listening to the self that is not me, I finally hear the voice of the self that is.
And that voice always leads me home.
